About Us
The South Hills Soccer Association (SHSA) is proud to be a part of the Kanawha Valley Soccer League (KVSL)—the largest youth soccer league in the greater Kanawha Valley region. For over 25 years, SHSA has been committed to providing a fun, safe, and developmental soccer program for children in the South Hills community and surrounding areas. Each year, we welcome an average of 450 players across various age groups, fostering a love for the game in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
We are a 100% volunteer-driven organization, powered by dedicated parents, coaches, and community members who believe in the importance of youth sports. Our mission is to offer an accessible and high-quality recreational soccer experience that promotes physical activity, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship.
SHSA proudly fields teams in age divisions from U4 through U12, with an additional U14 season available in the spring. As a recreational league, our focus is not on scores or standings, but on fun and fundamental skill development. We strive to create a positive experience for both players and parent-coaches, helping every child—regardless of skill level—build proper technique, game understanding, and a sense of camaraderie on and off the field.
Our home field is the Trace Fork Soccer Complex, conveniently located near South Charleston. Trace Fork serves as the central hub for all SHSA home games and practices. The facility includes multiple well-maintained fields and parking areas, providing a dedicated space where our teams can train and compete. While the complex does not include walking trails or playgrounds, it offers a focused and safe environment specifically designed for youth soccer.
Seasonal registration typically opens six weeks prior to the first scheduled practice, and all important dates, payment information, and league updates are available on our website. We encourage families to check the site regularly for news and announcements to stay connected and informed throughout the season.
At SHSA, we believe that soccer is more than just a game—it’s a chance for children to grow, build friendships, and develop life skills in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. Whether you’re a returning family or joining us for the first time, we are excited to welcome you to the South Hills Soccer Association.
We can’t wait to see your child on the fields at Trace Fork Soccer Complex this season!
